Tiny gifts, moving meditations, acts of love…

Whether making or viewing, the arts can have an overwhelmingly positive effect on our well-being. How much time does it take for this to happen? Many of the studies recommend starting with forty-five minute sessions. But what about days when we don’t have that kind of time? Would 20 minutes work? How about ten? Five, even. Would that make any difference at all? 

This is my own little experiment to see what might happen if I spend five minutes or so making art before becoming too deeply involved in all the other “stuff” of the day. Or maybe after some of the other stuff. Just a few minutes, whenever I can grab them. A small, sustainable practice with no agenda other than enjoying the moment. I am calling them my Morning Glories. Let’s see what happens…
